Women Empowerment

Why Should Women Be Empowered?

Gender equality has gained recognition in the last ten years as being essential to a country’s social and economic progress as well as its overall health. One of the main focuses of the UNDP’s Sustainable Development Goals is the advancement of gender equality and women’s empowerment. It entails advocating for women’s equal rights, opportunities, and resource accessibility so they may make their own decisions and take charge of their life.

Women who are empowered advance social justice, the economy, and sustainable development. They actively participate in leadership roles, healthcare, education, and decision-making processes. A more varied and equitable society where women’s opinions are heard, their abilities are valued, and their potential is reached is fostered by women’s empowerment.

What Actions Do We Take?

Launched in 2023, the women’s empowerment initiative Swabhiman by Sabhav Foundation provides nutrition, healthcare, and livelihood interventions to women who are underprivileged and socially excluded. Through creative community initiatives, the program empowers women to seek healthcare and effect long-lasting change in their communities, all the while assisting them in developing their awareness, skills, and financial independence. Additionally, Swabhiman actively promotes gender equality in society by getting boys and men involved in the process of empowering women.
